I Understand the thrill of going on a cruise or on holiday to some exotic location. Why would you choose to spend a large amount of money on a whim? Because of the thrill of the experience? nobody likes to get ripped off, but imagine how bad you would feel if this happened while on your honeymoon or holiday? What would have been great memories, get ruined by some devious person who parted you from your money while you were off guard and in holiday mode!
There are a few beautiful gems to be bought abroad…. but I have also had a few not so beauties to assess. …….. take care
A few simple tips can help you avoid getting stung:
Plan before you go – Prior to leaving decide what you really want to come back with. Know what you want and you can afford to spend.
Check out if the business has Social Media accounts – Company pages on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, or Google+ are all signs of a real business. On these pages you will be able to read what people are saying about this company. Reputable businesses will have many social accounts because they want to get noticed and stay connected to their customers. Non reputable businesses often don’t even have a website!
Another thing to keep in mind about shopping for jewelry on holiday: You may have to pay taxes on it when you return home. Check your home duty free allowances. The money you saved on tax free purchases might
vanish as import duty!
